Butler Student Nursing Association
The Butler Student Nursing Association (BSNA) is comprised of students enrolled in the Associate Degree of Nursing program, pre-nursing students enrolled at Butler, and faculty advisors and consultants. Voting privileges of a BSNA member are defined by active participation in the organization.

The purpose of BSNA is:
- To assume responsibility for contributing to Nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality of health care.
- To provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interest and concerns
- To aid in the development of the whole person, his/her professional role, and his/her responsibility for the health care of people in all walks of life.
The functions of BSNA include the following:
- To have direct input into standards of nursing education process.
- To influence health care, nursing education and practice through legislative activities as appropriate.
- To promote and encourage participation in community affairs and activities toward improved health care and the resolution of related social issues.
- To represent nursing students to consumer, health care institutions and other organizations.
- To promote and encourage students' participation in interdisciplinary activity.
- To promote and encourage recruitment efforts, participation in student activities, and educational opportunities regardless of a person's race, color, creed, gender, age, life style, national origin, or economic status.
- To promote and encourage a collaborative relationship between the Kansas Association of Nursing Students (KANS) and the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA), as well as the other nursing and related health organizations.
