Add/Drop Classes

How to Add/Drop Classes Via Pipeline

Below are the instructions for adding classes (enrolling in classes) and dropping classes (withdrawing from classes) via Pipeline.

Add Classes

  1. Log into pipeline@butler
  2. Scroll down. In the left margin, click on the Enroll Now icon. 
  3. At the bottom of the page, click on the Look Up Classes to Add link. This link will take you to the Interactive Schedule. 
  4. On the Interactive Schedule, under the Search for Classes heading, choose the appropriate selection criteria. 
  5. When you have your selection criteria set, click on the Search for classes button at the bottom of the webpage. 
  6. Locate your class. Write down the class CRN on a sheet of paper. 
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you have the CRNs for all of your classes. 
  8. Minimize the Interactive Schedule. 
  9. Click on the Add/Drop classes link. 
  10. Select the appropriate term for enrollment and click on submit. (If you have not been released to enroll, you will be prompted to do so.) 
  11. Read the important information on this page; then scroll down to the blank rectangular boxes located at the bottom of the page. 
  12. Place your CRNs in the blank rectangular boxes and click on the Submit Changes button. 
  13. Scroll through the list of classes you have selected. If the selected courses are correct, click on the Complete Registration button at the very bottom of the screen. This will display a copy of your bill that you can print for your records. Make sure to pay close attention to the payment deadline. 
  14. At the bottom on the costs page, click on the Student Detail Schedule. Print this page as confirmation of your enrollment. 
  15. Log out of your Pipeline Account. 

Drop Classes

  1. Log into pipeline@butler
  2. In the left margin under Student Quick Clicks, click on Add/Drop Classes.   
  3. Select the term for the course you want to drop, and then click the Submit button. 
  4. Scroll down the page to view a list of the courses in which you are currently enrolled.   Click on the drop-down box next to the class you wish to drop and select Web Withdrawal or Drop Web.      
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Submit Changes button.   
  6. At the next page that appears, check your class schedule to make sure the class displays as dropped. 
  7. To complete the process, click on Complete Registration at the very bottom of the screen. 
  8. Don't forget to log out!
