Bio: Matt begins his fifth year at Butler, and third as a full-time faculty member.  He brings a wealth of practical experience to the classroom in his role at Butler. During a coaching career that spanned more than 20 years, he trained more than 3,500 athletes at many levels. Career stops have included the University of ArkansasSouthern Arkansas University, as well as the Cincinnati Reds before starting a private practice in Wichita.

His coaching resume includes several conference championships in college, a divisional title in the pros, and a national championship in both baseball and softball (2016 NJCAA Championship with Butler).

His focus is to leverage his coaching experience in the classroom to help create the next generation of professionals in the field of exercise science.  Sanders earned a Master’s degree from the University of Arkansas, and is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) as well as being a Distinguished Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC*D).

Bio: Bryce Winklepleck is a fulltime Fitness and Wellness instructor within Butler’s Department of Health, Early Childhood and Public Safety. He earned his Master’s Degree of Education in Exercise Science, Graduate Certificate in Public Health, and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sports Management from Wichita State University.

Winklepleck, a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), is also certified in Functional Movement Screening (FMS). This training provides him the ability to share a wealth of applicable information with Butler’s Fitness/Wellness students.

Before joining Butler, Winklepleck spent five years at Pittsburg State University as the Assistant Director for Fitness and Wellness and part-time instructor with their Exercise Science program. During his time at Pitt State, he oversaw the personal training program, group exercise classes, fitness supervisors, and the fitness facility.
