Our International Community
Butler is a great place to learn!
International Student Association
All international students are automatically members of the International Student Association (ISA). The ISA is open to international students, resident aliens and any students who are interested in promoting cross-cultural understanding. Members are sometimes invited to visit with elementary school classes and community groups. The ISA participates in the campus-wide Spring Fling event, where they share their various cultures with other students and community members through games, music and dance, traditional clothing, flags and exhibits. All monthly social activities are planned by members.
Activities in the International Community at Butler:
Spring Fling: The International Student Association has his or her flags from every country that is represented at the school. Each student comes dressed in his or her traditional clothing and sample food from other countries. This is a celebration of spring, as well as a chance for students to share their culture with others.
International Food and Music Night: Each fall, the International Student Association, international office staff and other student groups, organize a food and music night for international students. Students prepare traditional food dishes from their home culture and volunteer to share cultural activities, such as music, dance, or cultural presentations.
