Butler’s Honor Society Placed at the Regional Convention
The Alpha Phi Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa received the highest honor status possible internationally.
Butler Community College’s chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha won several awards at the organization’s regional convention. Alpha Phi Alpha, Butler's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, attended the Kansas-Nebraska Regional Convention in Wichita, Kansas from Friday, March 3-5. The convention is designed to recognize colleges and students who achieve academic success.
Butler Community College’s chapter was recognized for achieving Five Star Level, which is the highest status internationally. Other awards included:
Honors in Action Award 3rd Place
College Project Award 4th Place
Most Outstanding Chapter Award 3rd Place
Most Improved Chapter Award 5th Place
Yearbook Award 6th Place
Sister Chapter Award Runner-Up
Students Mariah Baker and Holly Herda and Advisor Chrissy Baker were recognized. Mariah Baker of Augusta received 4th Place in Achievement in Art—Photography as well as
Distinguished Officer Award Honorable Mention. Holly Herda of Whitewater received 3rd Place for the Distinguished Member Award. Chrissy Baker received the Paragon Award for Advisors.
